But It’s More About The People.
Business For The People is a space for us to explore what it looks like to do and be in business differently while being in relationship with others who are doing the same.
Our definition of doing business differently is creating businesses that break down and dismantle practices that are harmful, exploitative, and those that are only about profit maximization no matter what.
We understand that traditional business - business created for white men, by white men - is harmful and doesn’t care how money is made, just as long as it's made. We don’t roll like that.
We care about the means and the ends.
We care about the people.
We care about the environment.
And we care about generating wealth and resources...we just want to do it in a way that reduces harm instead of amplifying it with exploitative practices.
We work to understand how we can do all facets of business differently - marketing, sales, operations, management, pricing. We challenge the status quo, together.
We lean on each other for answers, we share what’s working and what isn’t, and together we’re exchanging oppressive, dated business practices for ones that are rooted in liberation and collective consciousness.
Meet The BFTP Team
Business For The People is a worker-owned and democratically controlled cooperative virtual members space. In the simplest terms, this means that a group of people, own, steward, and facilitate Business For The People. Membership dues are split amongst BFTP worker-owners, and worker-owners do all labor needed to run BFTP.
